内容記述 Over the last decade, academic institutions in the United States have become increasingly committed to diversity, equity, and inclusivity(DEI)to create learning environments that build solidarity, promote inclusion, and embrace diverse points of view and backgrounds. At California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo(Cal Poly)there are multiple ongoing efforts at the university, college, and department levels to promote DEI principles on our campus. In recent years I have served as committee member or chair of DEI related committees at the college and department levels. Here, I will share experiences and lessons I have learned by serving on these committees and also as a participant in multiple DEI related workshops. I will also share details on DEI-related activities by various US universities and by the American Statistical Association(ASA). These activities are widely applicable and could be used to help foster DEI principles in Japanese learning environments as well.
